As our kids are getting older and they are starting to get the hang of game concepts, rules, and winning/losing, we have been incorporating more games and board games into our play. What I love so much about playing games is that there are so many learning aspects involved and the kids don’t even realize it. They are so engaged and focusing on playing that all the skills that comes from playing games happens almost naturally. Lately, our sweet Mr. Almost Four has been obsessed with playing Memory. It’s a classic for sure and extremely simple to learn. Children as young as two can begin to learn to match the pictures and understand the concept of putting the same pictures together. We have been playing it non-stop and it’s a wonderful way to develop their memory, hence the name.
We usually try to switch out and rotate games to freshen it up a little and keep the kids’ interest. Sometimes it’s the same type of game but different themes, different forms, or tied to a particular season or holiday to make things festive! We have been enjoying these Halloween Matching Memory Game lately and the kids just love the cute, bright, and fun Halloween themed illustrations. This is a printable so it can be used in a few ways. It can be used as a memory game, or a one-to-one matching game, or simply just cut up one page and leave the other to use as a matching mat. You can grab the printable game here.
Hope you and your kids enjoy playing this fun Halloween game!
