Do you have a child that just LOVES pretend play? My kids have always favored this type of play since they were two and it’s still going strong four years later. I love seeing their imaginations take off and how they can use literally anything and make it transform into a part of their play.
During this winter time, we thought we could cozy up and enjoy some imaginary hot chocolate at the Hot Cocoa Shop! This has been one of their favorite dramatic play setups so far! Quite possibly because they are such loyal fans of hot chocolate and marshmallows. I love that it has all the holiday winter feels and is the perfect play setup for around Christmas time when the kids are on break from school.
I used my Hot Cocoa Shop printables and found things I had around the house. Crumpled up brown paper for the hot chocolate, poms poms for marshmallows (cotton balls would work as well!), cups, toy cookies, a gingerbread ornament… pretty much anything goes!
I also got a little sneaky and incorporated some counting practice as well. Truly couldn’t be helped, I love me some play based learning.
I usually leave play setups for a few days as the kids tend to go back to it over and over, and finally when I’m ready to pack it away, I LOVE that it packs right up into a zipper pouch and we can use it again next time. This play barely takes up any room. You could use this with a play kitchen to revamp up the kids’ interests, it’s so open ended in may ways. So if you are looking for a fun pretend play this winter, give this Hot Cocoa Shop a try! Link is below.
